drapeau

day 24

{flag garland}

i made this flag garden from this incredible used bookstore find from last year--an informative picture book from the 1970's. part of me cringed as i cut it to pieces...but the finished product was well worth the biblio-butchering.

more to come--for SALE--on my etsy--when i make it.

on the side

day 19

i am very happy with the side table i've created in my bedroom at home. several beautiful, simple, meaningful things arranged. a sight for sometimes-sore and often-times fresh eyes...for me, it's always the small whispery things that bring aesthetic harmony.

meet my new friend...

{james barnett}

this past week i got the opportunity to go to atlanta and meet up with this guy here. let's just say it was a wonderful experience from the second i arrived until the sleep-deprived moment i departed. james heads up an amazing non-profit organization called "clothe your neighbor as yourself" where he's currently touring the country loving on and serving the least of these...

check out his site to learn more about his cause and pick up a fly t-shirt

thanks james.

home base

day 17

{familiar, comfortable, clean}

it's nice to be home for the entire month of july. my bedroom needed some attention when i got back so i uncluttered my space and subsequently my mind.

aerial landscape #1

day 16

so for anyone who follows, it's plain to see that i have apparently been slackin'. but in my defense, i am working on a new painting (and developing a concept for a big big body of work!). in short, i'm using aerial landscape photography to inspire abstract paintings. below is a picture of the work in progress. i'm sketching out the image below(a pain in the rear--let me tell you what) to scale on a rather large canvas. it'll be a blueprint of sorts and the end result will look nothing like the photograph. at this stage in the game my drawing patience is wearing thin and i wanna get my hands in some oils...but i know only with proper planning will it be successful!

{the blueprint:a gorgeous aerial view of historic great britain}

{so much to draw}
more updates to come as i progress!

long time coming

day 12

so i've been a blog bum...
but i will save the excuses and make up for it with an influx in posts.

the most recent roll:

{beautimus tally meets the quaint coastal seaside town}

on my way to the drugstore to develop 2 new rolls that i'm so so STOKED about...also, just finished setting up the ultimate impromptu art studio in my parent's rec room. time to get messy and start posting a little more than just photos (i'm talking paintings and collages and drawings oh my!)

chocolate caramel crack[ers]

day 8

this is what we made...
{not my photograph...this stuff was GONE before i could snap a few [like i said, it's like crack] so i stole this little beauty from smitten kitchen. this link is also to the recipe so get excited.

{the official caramel stirring stance}

{waldo:professional begger}

{makin' it rain}

this recipe is a sisterly staple/boredom buster. homemade caramel cooked over saltines becoming a sweet 'n' salty brittle...then smothered in semi-sweet chocolate. yea, it's as addicting as it sounds.

little shoutout to my beautiful galpal Remy's food website (and also who i got the idea from to make the first batch of this yummy--ness over a year ago).

she inspires my inner foodie
